The 3 Days Bwindi Gorilla Trekking Tour starts and ends in Kampala. However, we may start in Kampala and end up in Kigali, or vice versa. Travelling to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwest Uganda is the finest way to trek mountain gorillas in Africa. Half of the remaining mountain gorilla population in the world resides in the park, where 19 gorilla families have acclimated to tourism.
Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Our tour guide will pick you up from your Kampala hotel or from the Entebbe Airport, and you will then travel to the western region of Uganda. Travelers will make a photo stop near the Equator along route, have lunch at the Igongo Cultural Centre in Mbarara Town, and then continue via the Kigezi region, which is dubbed the “Switzerland of Africa” due to its majestic rolling hills, deep valleys, and winding roads.
Accommodation: Rushaga Gorilla Lodge, Lake Mutanda Resort, Chameleon Hill Lodge.
Meals: (Lunch, Dinner).
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience – Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Start the day early at the lodge with a hearty breakfast before gathering for a briefing about gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park at the park headquarters. Going on a gorilla trekking expedition in the Bwindi forest requires physical fitness. The length of the walk varies from two to seven hours, based on how these Gentle Giants move in their native environment! It is highly advised that you hire a porter for the hike in order to have them carry your backpack, food and photographic equipment. This is one way that employment opportunities are generated for the local communities by gorilla tourism.
The exhilaration of coming across these kind Giants in their native environment erases all the unpleasant memories you had while looking for them and provides an experience of a lifetime. Enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend an hour with the gorillas, learn about their lifestyles, and take pictures. After relaxing at the lodge for lunch, head to the stunning Lake Bunyonyi by car.
Accommodation: Bunyonyi Overland Resort, Birds Nest Resort, Arcadia Cottages.
Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).
