The 7 Days Best of Uganda Wildlife Adventure takes you through the southwest of Uganda, where you can find more than 480 mountain gorillas, in Bwindi National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. As part of Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will also get to see wildlife and track chimpanzees at Kibale Forest National Park.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival – Entebbe Airport.

You will be picked up and taken to Kampala from Entebbe International Airport. If you arrive early, you can see the Uganda Museum, the Baha’i Temple, and the shrine of the Namugongo Martyrs before checking into your hotel for the evening.

Accommodation: Kampala Serena Hotel, Kampala Sheraton Hotel, Hotel Africana.

Meals: (Lunch, Dinner).

Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park.

After breakfast in the morning, travel through the densely forested Nile River Delta and the papyrus marsh to reach Kibale National Park. After arriving, you go on a guided afternoon nature walk in the park around Crater Lake to experience a different culture. For supper and overnight stay, you will check in at the lodge of your choosing.

Accommodation: Primate Lodge, Ndali Lodge, Kyaninga Lodge.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking Experience – Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning and head to the Kanyanchu Information Centre with your packed lunch for a briefing on chimpanzee trekking. You will see a community of chimpanzees after being divided into groups of eight. Depending on where the chimpanzees are, a chimpanzee trek might take anything from 30 minutes to several hours. Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park in the evening to explore and watch wildlife.

Day 4: Morning Game Drive – Afternoon Boat Cruise.

After eating breakfast early in the morning, take a morning game drive through the Kasenyi region in Uganda to search for four of the country’s five major game species, which together comprise over 620 different bird species. Take a launch cruise in the Kazinga Channel in the afternoon to search for the majority of the aquatic bird species, crocodiles, and hippos. You head back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay in the afternoon.

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

After breakfast in the morning, check out and drive via the Ishasha sector, which connects to the Bwindi Forest via Kanungu.

Accommodation: Buhoma Lodge, Mahogany Springs, Gorilla Forest Camp.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi.

After eating breakfast and getting up early, drive to the Buhoma Park headquarters to register and receive an orientation regarding the guidelines for hiking with mountain gorillas. Beginning around 8:00 am and lasting anything from 30 minutes to 7 hours, depending on the gorillas’ location and pace of movement, is the gorilla trekking experience. Enjoy the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend an hour with gorillas and learn about their human-like characteristics. Attend a cultural performance in a Batwa community if time permits.

Day 7: Return to Kampala – Departure.

You leave for Kampala or Entebbe in the morning after breakfast, stopping for lunch the route.
