8 Days Kenya Safari Tour

Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Arrive in Nairobi.

You will be met by our company representative at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, briefed on safari, and then driven to your hotel, the Karen Blixen Coffee Garden & Cottages. Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya, is the most cosmopolitan metropolis in East Africa. It is situated along the Nairobi River. It’s a great place to start safari treks in Kenya. The fourth-largest metropolis in Africa, Nairobi is a lively and fascinating destination. The vibrant nightlife, the National Museum, the Karen Blixen Museum, and the cafe culture are just a few of the many intriguing attractions. Notably, the world’s only urban wildlife reserve is approximately 20 minutes from the city centre, where you may witness buffalo and wild lions roaming freely. Don’t pass up the chance to experience something once in a lifetime by visiting the elephant orphanage run by the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.

Accommodation: Karen Blixen Coffee Garden & Cottages.

Meals: (Dinner).

Day 2-3: Transfer to Nanyuki

After eating an early breakfast, start your day by travelling to Nanyuki. This little equatorial town has a few excellent restaurants, including Barney’s, which is renowned for its fine cuisine, and the Trout Tree, which is housed inside the trunk of an enormous tree and serves several variations of this freshwater fish. It is also a popular route for hikers ascending Mount Kenya via the Burguret or Sirimon routes. The village offers breathtaking views of the mountain because of its advantageous placement. Many reserves are also located in the vicinity, such as Shaba National Reserve, Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, Sweetwaters Game Reserve, Samburu National Reserve, and Mount Kenya National Park.

When you get there, have lunch at The Trout Tree Restaurant, which is located near a massive Sacred Fig tree on the Burguret River. The figs are from Mount Kenya, which is covered in snow. The grounds around the restaurant have pools full of fish and flowing freezing water.

Proceed to the Mount Kenya Safari Club for a visit of the animal orphanage after lunch. Following the tour, you’ll head to the Soames Hotel & Jack’s Bar to check in, change and get ready for dinner.

After breakfast the following day, head to Ol Pejeta Conservancy for a fun-filled day of activities, carrying picnic lunch boxes in tow. Exciting game drives, a trip to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, and an educational stop at the center where you get to feed the kind, blind black rhino named “Baraka” are all on your program. In addition to enormous populations of elephants, cheetahs, lions, leopards, and plains game, the reserve is home to the majority of Kenya’s Black Rhinos. Rare Northern species including Jackson’s Hartebeest, Beisa Oryx, and Grevy’s Zebra call it home.

Take a fascinating trip tracking lions later in the day. You will be picked up for the tracking expedition by a Shared Conservancy vehicle at 3:30 pm, and it will end at 5:30 pm. You have to stay in the car for safety during the tracking. Free drinking water, pens, and lion identification sheets are available, however binoculars and cameras are advised for the best viewing. Return to the Soames Hotel to change after the tour and then savour a delectable dinner.

Accommodation: Soames Hotel & Jack’s Bar.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 4: Transfer to Lake Naivasha

After an early breakfast, head downhill through the Great Rift Valley and the Kenya Highlands to arrive to the tranquil shores of Lake Naivasha, one of the most picturesque lakes in Kenya. Lunch at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge is lovely. Take a picturesque boat trip on Lake Naivasha in the afternoon, which allows you to get up close and personal with Cormorants, Pink-Backed Pelicans, Herons, colourful Kingfishers, and magnificent Fish Eagles. Visit Crescent Island Game Sanctuary later on for a unique experience strolling among Maasai giraffes, dik-diks, zebras, impalas, and gazelles. After a fascinating tour, head back to the lodge for a filling meal.

Accommodation: Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 5: Transfer to Masai Mara

You’re going to the Masai Mara National Reserve today on your adventure. The Masai Mara National Reserve is home to Tanzania’s Serengeti and the Masai Mara, making it the most famous wildlife sanctuary in Africa. Its famous landscape, with acacia trees strewn all across wide grasslands, perfectly captures the spirit of Africa. The image of Africa is complete when it includes animals and a Maasai warrior. The yearly wildebeest migration, which takes place every year and features millions of animals migrating across the Masai Mara and the Serengeti in quest of better pastures, is the reserve’s main attraction. This phenomena represents the world’s largest land mammal mass migration.

In addition, the reserve is home to a wide variety of animals, such as eland, gazelles, giraffes, elephants, and lions. Activities include typical vehicle tours and horseback safaris, as well as the increasingly popular hot-air balloon rides over the Mara plains. Check out of your lodge after breakfast and make your way to Tipilikwani Camp in the Mara. After arriving and checking in, have a filling lunch and then unwind in your tent for the afternoon. It’s time for your first exciting game-viewing drive in the Maasai Mara Reserve as late darkness draws in and the temperature drops.

Accommodation: Tipilikwani Mara Camp.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 6-7: Full Day in Masai Mara.

Take a thrilling drive across the Mara plains after breakfast to hunt for plains game, including the elusive Big Five. Alternatively, engage in extracurricular activities offered at the Maasai Mara. Since animals are at their most active in the early morning before the heat of the day sets in, these times make for excellent viewing. Return to the reserve to look for more animals after lunch and a leisurely mid-morning rest. As you work to cross the remaining animals off your “must-see” list, keep a close look out. Don’t pass up the opportunity to see the Mara River and ask your guide about the usual crossing options. The next day, for an extra fee, you can take a hot air balloon safari over the Masai Mara or just enjoy the game view on the Reserve. It might be scheduled to include trips to a nearby Maasai manyatta.

Accommodation: Tipilikwani Mara Camp.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 8: Return to Nairobi – Departure.

Proceed to the airstrip for your planned flight to Nairobi after breakfast. You are greeted upon arrival and driven to the Nairobi Airport in preparation for your next trip.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch).
