During your 5 Days Chimpanzee Tracking in Uganda tour, you will travel to various regions of Western Uganda, where you will visit Kibale National Park, one of the largest rain forests in Africa and home to over 100 chimpanzees, 60 species of mammals, over 325 species of birds, and 13 other primates, including black and white colobus monkeys. You will also proceed to the Queen Elizabeth National Park, which bears the name of the English monarch and is situated 376 km from Kampala. Almost 500 different species of birds, 10 primates, 95 different species of mammals, and climbing lions may all be found in the Ishasha sector of the park. In general, the park is a wonderful location with beautiful scenery that is bisected by the Kazinga river.
Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Transfer to Kibale National Park
After breakfast on this day, the guide will pick you up at your home or hotel, give you a briefing, and then leave at 7:00 am to travel to Kibale National Park, which should take about 4 hours and 30 minutes. There will be amazing sightings of historic towns and scenery. As you travel, you’ll see several incredible creatures, including monkeys and baboons. After arriving, proceed to the picturesque Crater Lakes area before driving to the lodge to check in. After dinner and an overnight stay, unwind there in the evening.

Day 2: Kibale Chimpanzee Tracking – Bigodi Wetland Visit
After breakfast, make your way to the park’s headquarters where you’ll receive an orientation before the incredible chimpanzee search gets underway at eight in the morning. You may spot other wildlife species while tracking them, including l’hoest’s monkeys, golden monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, and birds like green-breasted pittas. Meeting the chimpanzees will undoubtedly be a lot of fun because you will get to witness the males defending their areas, the young ones playing, and the feeding. After lunch, head back to the lodge and spend the afternoon exploring the Bigodi Wetland, which is home to a variety of wildlife, including the Great Blue Turaco, as well as a few primates and other communities. Stay the night at the lodge after dinner.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After eating breakfast, depart Kibale in the direction of Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will pass through Fort Portal town on your route, where you may enjoy fantastic views of the Rwenzori mountain range and the locals going about their daily lives close to the road. After stopping for lunch along the road, continue on to the park, which is surrounded by Lakes Edward and George and divided by the Kazinga Channel that runs through it. Numerous wildlife, including enormous forest pigs, lions, buffaloes, antelopes, waterbucks, and birds, will be seen.
You will enjoy a fantastic afternoon game drive around the park, where you will be able to take in the breathtaking vistas of the park and a few mountain Rwenzori ranges. Travel to your preferred lodging, enjoy a delicious supper there, and spend the night there.

Day 4: Morning Game Drive – Afternoon Boat Cruise
You will have to get up early on this lovely day because you are going on a wildlife drive to witness the early risers in the Kasenyi track, which includes lions, buffaloes, antelopes, and elephants. In fact, you will be able to get up close and personal with them. Return to the resort and prepare for the launch/boat cruise on Kazinga Channel by eating breakfast and then lunch. Your eyes will be feasted upon magnificent aquatic animals like crocodiles, buffaloes, and hippos while you’re on the boat, along with birds like malachite kingfishers. Return to your lodge, have dinner, and spend the night there.

Day 5: Return to Kampala – Departure
Head to Lake Katwe, a salt lake, and don’t forget to explore the Crater Lakes region after an early breakfast. After that, head return to Kampala with a quick stop in Masaka for lunch and to snap pictures at the Equator. Reach Kampala late at night.
