This 4 Days Queen Elizabeth National Park Safari will show you one of Uganda’s best national parks. Queen Elizabeth National Park has approximately 2,000 square km in total. UNESCO has designated the park as a Biosphere Reserve. Queen Elizabeth National Park is distinct because of its breathtaking landscape and wide variety of wildlife. At Queen Elizabeth National Park, one can find lions, crocodiles, buffaloes, warthogs, hartebeests, oribis, hippos, and a variety of other creatures. The rare Ishasha tree-climbing lions are the park’s major attractions. There are more lions that climb trees than there are in Queen Elizabeth’s domain.

4 Days Queen Elizabeth National Park Safari

Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Early in the morning, our guide will come to your hotel in Kampala or the Entebbe airport to start your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The region of the country known as Queen Elizabeth’s west is notable for its breathtaking landscape, undulating hills, and other topographical features that came about as a result of the East African Rift Valley’s creation. Be mindful of the locals as they tend to their gardens or do business in the roadside markets. Numerous ranchers can be seen caring after the curious Ankole cattle with long horns.

At Kayabwe’s Equator crossing, the driver will pause momentarily so you can snap pictures in this well-known location. The northern and southern hemispheres of Earth are divided by the equator line. Stretching your legs allows you to simultaneously be in both hemispheres of the earth. The Igongo Cultural Centre will be the next destination on the itinerary. Beautiful vistas of the East African Rift Valley, crater lakes, wildlife, and the Rwenzori mountains will appear as you get closer to the park. The Guide will be most engaged here, giving you comprehensive information on every aspect. After being driven to your hotel for refreshments, you will arrive in the afternoon.

You will proceed on a night time game drive on the Kasenyi plains to see warthogs, buffaloes, elephants, lions, small primates, and many species of antelopes, among other animals, after refuelling and possibly changing clothing.

Accommodation: Mweya Safari Lodge, Enganzi Lodge, Elephant Plains Lodge.

Meals: (Lunch, Dinner).

Day 2:  Morning Game Drive – Boat Cruise at the Kazinga Channel

Wake up early and have a hearty breakfast as you wait to go on the early morning wildlife drive. You can see the early risers and nocturnal creatures, like as leopards returning to their den, on the morning game drive. Even the Murchison Falls National Park cannot match the breathtaking scenery of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The savanna grasslands, crater lakes, wetlands, rivers, and woods will astound you.

Views of the Rwenzori mountains are available from nearly all areas within the park. Numerous animals, like as buffaloes, lions, elephants, leopards, huge forest pigs, waterbucks, bush bucks, Uganda Kobs, and Topis, are drawn to these physical features.

After your morning game drive, you will return to your accommodation for some relaxation and lunch before boarding the boat for the Kazinga Channel boat trip. The majority of the wildlife will be perfectly visible from this boat as they congregate in one area to drink and bathe. One of the best places in Uganda and Africa for birdwatching is the Kazinga Channel. A variety of aquatic birds can be seen feeding next to enormous crocodiles, elephants, and hippos.

Accommodation: Mweya Safari Lodge, Enganzi Lodge, Elephant Plains Lodge.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kyambura Gorge – Transfer to Ishasha for Tree Climbing Lions

Get up early and get ready to be brought to the Kyambura Gorge starting site for a briefing. After the East African Rift Valley formed, subsequent faulting produced the underground forest known as Kyambura Gorge. This valley saw the growth of a massive forest that provided a haven for numerous primates, birds, and other species. Prior to recent human destruction, a natural forest corridor connected the underground forest to forests on the mainland, such as Maramagambo and Kalinzu. The chimpanzee population in the gorge was trapped when this woodland corridor was destroyed. For fear of being attacked by predators, they are unable to cross the savanna plains and reach the neighbouring forests.

The Kyambura Gorge’s chimpanzee trekking program is exceptional since it gives visitors the chance to explore the unusual gorge and learn about its wildlife. Walking up and down a steep gorge makes chimpanzee trekking in the Kyambura Gorge somewhat taxing. To avoid being taken aback, you must mentally prepare for the task. After the chimpanzee tracking experience, you will have lunch and be taken to the park’s Ishasha area to look for Uganda’s renowned tree-climbing lions. In addition to being visible in the evenings, lions prefer to laze around atop fig trees during the hottest parts of the day.

Accommodation: Mweya Safari Lodge, Enganzi Lodge, Elephant Plains Lodge.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 4: Return to Kampala – Departure.

Get up early and go on a game drive in Ishasha to witness more lions and other animals, like as topis, elephants, and buffaloes, in this area. Because Ishasha has a different environment and geography than Kasenyi, it will provide you with a unique experience. You will have lunch at the Igongo Cultural Centre before starting your journey to Kampala following the wildlife drive. If you weren’t able to make it on the first day, you can still come in and take a quick look at the centre to learn more about the culture of the Ankole people. You will avoid the equator crossing and proceed along the same path. Arrive at Entebbe by 7:00 p.m. or so.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch).
