Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park.

After an early breakfast, a professional safari driving guide from Jewel Safaris will pick you up from the hotel and give you an overview of the tour before you set out for Uganda’s largest conservation area, Murchison Falls National Park. You will be able to witness rhinos in their native environment during your layover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for the rhino tracking activities. The whole process takes almost two hours. Afterwards, you will drive on to Murchison, where you will enter the park and see the top of the falls before checking into the lodge for the night and dinner.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive – Afternoon Boat Cruise.

After eating breakfast and getting up early, go on a game drive through the savannah in search of animals like Uganda kobs, Lelwel’s hartebeest, lions, spotted hyenas, savannah elephants, Oribi, Bohor’s Reedbuck, and numerous birds like Black-headed Lapwing, Blue-headed Coucal, Giant kingfisher, Swamp flycatcher, Red-throated bee-eater, and Black-billed barbet. The Northern sector is where the game drive is held. You will eat lunch at the resort following the game drive and then get ready for an exciting boat ride on the Nile. A unique perspective of the Nile will be provided by the launch cruise, where you may see massive Nile crocodiles, hippos, and several other animals as well as waders like African skimmers on the lakeshore. Later on, you’ll spend the night and eat back at the lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

You will drive through the escarpment and out of the country after breakfast. Lunch will be served to you hot in Fort Portal. You have a lengthy journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park after lunch. Drive to the lodge after you arrive at the park to check in, have supper and spend the night. Elephants, gigantic forest hogs, Uganda kobs, and other rewarding species can be spotted on the journey to the lodge.

Day 4: Morning Game Drive – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

After breakfast today, you’ll travel to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, the greatest area in Uganda to follow the elusive mountain gorillas. Bwindi is home to the renowned Mountain Gorillas and is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The drive to Bwindi is rather rewarding, offering beautiful vistas of the surrounding countryside’s rolling hills. Before continuing on your journey, you might make a halt to take in some breathtaking scenery or to visit a local market. Later in the afternoon, you will arrive for a relaxing evening, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 5: Bwindi Gorilla Trekking Experience.

After breakfast, you’ll make your packed lunch and head to the park headquarters for a briefing before going on your gorilla trekking trip. Following that, you’ll be assigned to a group to watch a certain gorilla family. To make it simple for you to locate the mountain gorillas, an armed ranger will lead you into the jungle and maintain close contact with the ground monitoring team. The duration of the activity varies from three to seven hours, depending on the gorillas’ movements. Once you’ve located the family, you will get an hour to spend with them, witnessing them as they play, eat, relax, and go about their daily lives in their natural habitat. You’ll stay the night and dine at the lodge later on.

Day 6: Return to Kampala – Departure.

After eating breakfast in the morning, depart for Kampala, arriving later in the afternoon. En route, stop at the equator for a photo opportunity and to pick up some locally crafted souvenirs. Head to the airport to make your return journey home.
