This 3 Days Rwanda Gorilla Tour is a personalised safari that includes hiking Volcanoes National Park‘s endangered mountain gorillas and golden monkeys. The park is situated two hours’ drive from Kigali, the nation’s capital, in the northwest of the nation. The park is home to around 350 mountain gorillas, some of which have formed ten habituated groups that hikers visit on a daily basis.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
You have the option to tour the Gisozi Genocide Site in the Kigali district of Nyarutarama before continuing on to Volcanoes National Park. A must-see for anyone interested in learning about Rwanda’s political past is this museum. The trip from Kigali to Kinigi, the headquarters of the Volcanoes park, is expected to take three hours. It takes place along a very safe and smooth route that leads to the northeast of Rwanda, at the base of the Virunga mountain range.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience – Gorilla Guardians Village Visit.
Join the group at the park headquarters at 8:00 am for coffee and traditional songs to get you excited about going on a gorilla walk. Following a 30-minute briefing, the park warden will lead you to the hiking trails beginning. The most exciting wildlife experience is spending an hour with mountain gorillas once you come upon them. You can take a natural walk to the twin lakes or embark on a cultural stroll to the Gorilla Guardians Village in the evening. Stay the night at your lodge for dinner.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking – Return to Kigali – Departure.
After receiving a briefing at the park headquarters in the morning, you will begin tracking golden monkeys, which is a somewhat easier and less taxing journey than the gorilla trek. When you locate the golden monkeys, you will be allowed up to one hour for observation and photography. You’ll make your way back to Kigali upon your return.
