Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Arrival in Bujumbura
When you get to Bujumbura, make your way to your hotel. After your flight, you have the remainder of the day to yourself.

Day 2: Bujumbura City Tour – Visit Rusizi National Park
Wetlands in Rusizi National Park provide a perfect home for a variety of birds, hippos, and the Sitatunga antelope, which is suited to life in the water. Visit a local fishing community while taking a boat ride on the Rusizi River and Lake Tanganyika. We then tour a fascinating but little-known African capital. Discover more about Burundi’s pre and post-colonial history as well as some of its struggles. Afterwards, we take a tour of the Kinama area to get a glimpse of daily life.

Day 3: Bujumbura – Teza Tea Plantations- Kibira Nature Walk
You will drive to Teza to visit the tea estates and take in the manufacture of Burundian tea, one of the key exports from the nation. We later go through Kibira National Park in the natural world. You take a car back to Bujumbura in the afternoon.

Day 4: Ijenda – Rumonge – Resha
Your first destination is “La Pierre de Livingstone et Stanley,” a stone monument that is said to represent the location of the November 25, 1871, meeting between explorer Dr. David Livingstone and journalist Henry Morton Stanley. Before spending the night in Resha, there’s a chance to have a firsthand look at the increasingly controversial palm oil manufacturing process at Rumonge.

Day 5: Resha – Lake Tanganyika – Nyakuza – Karera – Gitega
You will go on to see the southernmost Nile source, which was only found in 1937, in Rutovu, close to Rutana. Proceed to Nyakazu and see the “Gorge of the Germans” before continuing on to the “Chutes de la Karera,” a stunning set of waterfalls reputed to have therapeutic properties in the area. After that, take a car to Gitega.

Day 6: Gitega – Kirundo
You will go to the National Museum, a very run-down establishment that nevertheless contains the largest historical and anthropological collection in the nation, all in one room. But Gitega’s main attractions aren’t political administrations or museums. The renowned Gitega Drummers are on that billing; their performance on Gishora’s royal pitch is a sight not to be missed. We spend the night in Kirundo after that. We are going to see a show by the Intore Warrior Dancers in the evening. When the Intore warriors triumphed, they would parade in a dance in front of the jubilant populace, protecting the King during the era of royalty. The dancer is adorned with an intricate headpiece, ankle bells, an ivory necklace, and leopard skin.

Day 8: Bujumbura – Airport – Departure from Burundi
