Boat cruise at Murchison Falls National Park has long been the focus of a visit to the conservation area. Named after the Murchison Falls, it is the largest and oldest national park in Uganda and the leading tourist destination in the country. The conservation area’s very biodiverse ecology, which includes the magnificent green woodland of Kanio Pabidi and the Budongo forest, differs from place to place. It was named a national park in 1952.

Many tourists to the national park come with the purpose of taking a boat cruise to see the most powerful waterfall since the Victoria Nile gently flows into Lake Albert, a stream that allows boat cruises. Along the edge of the rift valley, the water constricts itself into a small crack in the rock, roaring down the drop. The only way to get to the top of the falls is by boat, and the trailhead is right below the escarpment. An experience that won’t soon be forgotten is a launch expedition to the base of the falls. You will be able to observe the escarpment’s jagged cliffs and changeable vegetation. The boat travels past numerous hippos lazing in the river, crocodiles, and constantly soaring birds. Among the stunning waterfowl that can be seen here are African fish eagles, priapic, and shoe bill stock.

Two of the most well-known boat trips in Murchison Falls National Park depart from Para Safari Lodge and go all the way to the base of the falls. Boat trips along the Nile to the shores of Lake Albert are conducted in two sessions: one in the morning at 11:00 am East African time, and the other in the afternoon from 2:30 pm. Enjoy an amazing boat ride to the base of the falls, where you may spot various animals such as warthogs, hippos, waterbucks, and Nile crocodiles lounging on the riverbanks. The Uganda Wildlife Authority and private companies, such as the exclusive camps, are the ones who run the boats.

Game drives along Pakuba’s northern bank are among the park’s additional activities. You can observe wildlife on the well-spaced game trails within the conservation area. The morning hours are great for seeing risers, including Rothchild’s giraffes, Jackson hartebeests, warthogs, lions, leopards, elephants, and buffaloes, to name a few. Tracking chimpanzees and leading nature hikes in the Budongo forest. It’s the only spot in the park where you can observe the closest relatives of man.

Although boat rides in Murchison Falls National Park are available year-round, they are most enjoyable from December through June to September, when the weather is dry. It is considered to be the high peak tourism season because of the tendency of the waters to be lower. The park is reachable by car from Entebbe International Airport or Kampala; the trip takes around six hours. There are flights available to the airfield at Pakuba.
